Judy Mazzotti, the femininity of Italian shoes at Who's Next
Founded in Rimini from the vision of the eponymous young Italian designer, Judy Mazzotti, Judy created her brand with a focus on the future and research and development centred on innovation and sustainability.
Visiting Who's Next from 20 to 22 January 2024, we spoke to the designer about her brand and her ambitions.
Judy Mazzotti in 3 words?
Exclusivity, luxury, and quality.
How's your Who's Next going?
It's going really well despite a shaky start when I lost a parcel full of shoes, but the team was incredible and managed to find it. Now everything is going really well.
Have you met any interesting people?
Yes, I've met a lot of interesting people. There's a great deal of interest in my products because they're new and the heels have a really special design. A lot of visitors are looking at the collection and asking questions.
What was behind your decision to take part in Who's Next this year?
For a new brand like mine, it's vital have a presence at trade shows because fashion professionals can't find you if you only have a digital presence. At a show like Who's Next, you have more opportunities to be seen.
What key trends have you incorporated into your designs this season?
I'm very creative; I dream a lot and get much of my inspiration from the little things around me, in my environment. I look at women and women's shoes. This collection is inspired by the universe, but also by the heart. I paint, which is very spiritual for me.
What challenges are brands currently facing?
Launching your own brand is hard – it can be an ordeal. You have to make sacrifices and face many challenges, but I'm really determined and I'm glad there are challenges; it stimulates me.
What advice would you give to a brand exhibiting for the first time?
Be careful with your deliveries. Read the show instructions carefully and, above all, have fun.
