LAB.SCENE contest: announcing the 3 winners for 2020

The objective of Lab.Scene, the young talent incubator, is to support three young designers with their brand strategy and commercial during an entire year.

Lab.Scene, the WSN x ISTITUTO Marangoni incubator presents the 3 winners of the contest’s first edition.

Building on its success, it has received over 200 applications, since the launch in September 2019, from young designers from all over the world.

10 profiles have been selected by the WSN and Istituto Marangoni teams according to the criteria enforced for the contest, 3 winners will be integrated into the LAB.SCENE incubator.

This 28th of November, our jury have chosen the 3 victorious emerging brands of the Lab.Scene contest, from the 10 shortlisted young designers who were selected a month a go now:

The 3 winners will have the opportunity to exhibit their collections in a dedicated Lab.Scene area at our events over the course of 2020, Who’s Next and Premiere Classe, amongst international buyers from the fashion community. They will also benefit from meetings with experts, have access to MasterClasses, and support tools from the Istituto Marangoni.labscene_laureat_31st winner: VOIR(E) Founded in 2016, Voir(e) offers a unique wardrobe. Grounded by its roots and nomadic through its inspirations, Voir(e) offers an alternative approach to classic mens- and womens-wear, an accessible style outside of fashion. Mixed, mixing materials, developing a collection, a story, every year and unveiling poetic pieces with ethnic details in two phases. The menswear wardrobe, workwear by Voir(e), is poeticised, twisted by geographic/historic influences, both real and dreams. Inspiration from other places and from travels encourages escapes, beautiful escapes. labscene_laureat_12nd winner: Martin Lüttecke Martín Lüttecke invites us to a retro-futurist universe focused on the Latin American youth, presenting experimental pattern making, geometric volumes and a contrast between classical and modern fabrics and silhouettes. All products are designed and manufactured in Chile. After graduating from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in 2017 as a “General Designer” he spent a year in Europe doing internships with Wales Bonner and Haider Ackerman before returning to Chile in 2018 to launch his namesake brand. His first collection “Pensamientos Violentos” earned international praise from publications such as Hunger Magazine, Vogue Latino América and I-D Latino América. labscene_laureat_23rd winner: Salut Beauté After having completed Masters degrees in entrepreneurship, prep at HEC (French business school) and studying at the European business school ESCP, Mathilde Gindre and Sarah Nimir, who refer to themselves as Brenda & Brenda, realised that they both had the desire to work in the fashion industry, as well as the same ‘bizarre sense of humour,’ as they like to point out. Salut Beauté offers discrete matching sets, with signature details and cuts which enhance a silhouette. The New Uniform’ was designed by women for women; the goal is to be able to get dressed effortlessly within seconds, but with style. All their pieces are designed in Paris and made from beautiful materials (wool and mixed cotton).
