Dinan 2023 Fashion Festival: Texpertise Prize awarded to Tanguy Mélinand
Young Breton designer Tanguy Mélinand was awarded the Texpertise prize at the 27th edition of the festival.
From 27 to 29 October, up-and-coming designers and fashion professionals met in Dinan, Côtes-d'Armor, to celebrate fashion through the prism of young creation. Each year, the festival showcases a dozen up-and-coming designers who present their collections, created and chaired by Dominique-Damien Réhel.
Promoted by Messe Frankfurt and presented by Claudia Franz, the organisation's Textile and Brand Director, the Texpertise Sustainability Award, organised in collaboration with Neonyt, is dedicated to accelerating innovation and social, economic and ecological change in the textile and fashion industry.
For the collection he presented at the Dinan International Fashion Festival, Tanguy Mélinand used upcycling as a means of expression. A graduate of Geneva's Haute Ecole d'art et de design, Tanguy's innovative creations are based on ocean algae.
